Walmart Wellies!!!

So my girls love rainboots!! They have so much fun tromping around the yard in the rain. The bigger the puddles the better. Unfortunately, Sweetpea's boots had become too small and of course she was very upset that her sister was able to splish splash, but she wasn't. So she conned her Grandmother into taking her to Walmart and buying her a pair of $12 wellies. They were pretty cute by Walmart standards, and I have to say, whoever (or is it whomever) is doing the buying these days at Wally World is really outdoing themselves. I have found some cutie patootie things over the summer. Anyway, she purchased the red ones with pink trim. Cute right???

They are just precious the way they are, but who doesn't love making precious even better??? Enter....CRICUT!!!!! (This is where everyone should be applauding wildly!) I dragged out my best crafting buddy, opened up the SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot) software, unrolled the pink vinyl(which looks white in the pics, but trust me, it's bubble gum pink) and bibbidy, bobbidy, boo ......

I think they turned out Plum Precious, which we all know is much better than just Precious!!! She loves them!!! So, everyone run out to Walmart, and grab your pair of $12 Wellies and get crafting...you know you want to!!!

I'm in LOVE!!!

Hello everyone, I know I have been MIA for the past few days but I have the greatest excuse ever....I finally bit the bullet and trusted all my blog peeps that have taken the giant step before me and downloaded SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot) to use with my Cricut. And to be perfectly honest....I am completely in love with it. I have ignored everything for the past few days except my new found toy. My husband is starting to feel neglected. If you haven't heard of SCAL...or if you have been reluctant to purchase it...run, don't walk, to CraftEdge and purchase it now. You can use any image available to you on the internet to cut out on your Cricut. It is the most fantastic addition to the Cricut I have ever seen... No more $90 cartridges...no more trying to find a place to store all my boxes of $90 cartridges, no more trips to Hobby Lobby and Michaels to look for $90 cartridges and did I mention...NO MORE $90 CARTRIDGES....It was so simple, inexpensive (a mere $53 after a coupon code) and I'm ashamed I was such a "doubting Thomas"...I should have taken the advice of the talented Blogger's World and done it months ago. I did have to download Inkscape to use along with it...this will convert any jpeg. file into the svg. file that Cricut uses...but it was free and very simple to use...I will be posting pics of what I have been working on when it is complete...I just can't decide with everything that is now available to me, what to use for a design.
So I apologize for being a slacker and I hope to do better with my new toy....be sure to come back soon to see what projects I've completed. Happy Sunday!!

Cricut and Cakes....whoot, whoot!!!!

Hello all...I am so excited...my sister has been hired with a catering company here locally and is now going to show the world how great she is at cake decorating. We are all so elated at her new opportunity. I have bragged on her before, but now she is actually going to get the recognition she deserves. You should definitely check her out at Iced and Sliced. So when she called me yesterday and told she was going to attend a Bakery Expo in Atlantic City, I was beside myself. We started looking around at some of the exhibitors that would be there and some of the classes she could attend...and something caught my eye. I will tell you that I spied the word Cricut and about went through the roof. Are you aware that you can use your Cricut Expression to make gorgeous cake designs??? I KNOW!!!!!! Maybe I am just behind on the times, but I had never heard of this and wanted to know more. So, of course, we signed her up for that class, but I also researched it on the old computer...Here is the article written by the lady that is giving the class....her name is Jennifer Atwood...and I can't wait to get all the juicy details....her web address is CuttingEdgeCakeArt.com, or you can just click on the address....It always amazes me when people think of things that make you go...."DUH??? WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT???? Well, after reading the article, I realized that yes you can use your Expression to decorate, but it may not be hygenic, however, they are manufacturing a Cricut Cake Machine that will do the job. So....I guess I will wait and see if my sister invests in this new fangled crafting machine...It would be great to have access to something you that would make me a better baker...Anyway, I hope my sister learns alot so she can come home and share her wealth of knowledge. I will let everyone know if she finds out any juicy nuggets that aren't on the fabulous Ms. Atwood's website....
